The ClubsNSW Workplace Relations team is an experienced team of advocates who specialise in understanding current legislation as well as the opportunities and threats these laws pose to registered clubs.

Clubs Work Healthy and Safety

Individuals at all levels within the industry are involved with work, health and safety (WH&S) issues. Beyond First Aid Certificate training, many people will become involved in managing WH&S in the workplace as part of a committee or as an individual.

ClubsWHS is a Work, Health & Safety Management System tailored to the club industry that includes tools, guidance, and information to enable you to adapt the system to suit your individual workplace.

Access to ClubsWHS is managed through Club Employers Mutual (CEM), a joint venture partner of ClubsNSW.

CEM is part of the Specialised Insurer, Hospitality Employers Mutual Ltd established by ClubsNSW and Employers Mutual in June 2012 to offer Workers Compensation Insurance, benefits, services and discounts to ClubsNSW members.

Armed Robbery Prevention

Office of Environment & Heritage

Environmental sustainability is now a key strategic operational tool for clubs that delivers benefits like long term cost savings as well as the reduction of energy use, wastage and potential pollution. Many clubs already lead their communities in environmentally friendly practices, ensuring minimal impact on their surrounding environment.

Following on from the release of the 2013 Clubs’ Sustainability Toolkit, ClubsNSW and the Office of Environment & Heritage offer new sustainability and energy efficiency courses for clubs. Courses are available in blended delivery formats such as online or face to face training.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

In order to work in the club industry, or hospitality at large, workers involved in the sale and supply of alcoholic beverages must hold an RSA competency card.

ClubsNSW offers RSA training online now through Hospitality Alliance Training and face to face through various accredited providers including the Club Managers’ Association of Australia (CMAA) - find out more on
